Pakistan's Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) and the World Bank held discussions on Thursday about ongoing initiatives to improve the country's business environment, streamline regulatory processes and support private-sector activity.

The talks took place during a meeting between SIFC Secretary Jameel Ahmad Qureshi and a delegation from the World Bank Group, according to a press release from the Associated Press of Pakistan.

The discussion focused on measures aimed at easing regulatory burdens for businesses operating in Pakistan and facilitating greater private investment, areas that have been a focus of the SIFC since its establishment as a platform to coordinate investment facilitation efforts across government agencies.

The World Bank has been engaged with Pakistan on a range of economic reform and development initiatives, and continued dialogue between the two sides reflects ongoing efforts to align regulatory policy with the needs of private investors.

The press release did not specify further details of the initiatives discussed or any timeline for implementation.
