Serviceman stabbed at Ukrainian recruitment centre in Odesa region

An unidentified man stabbed a serviceman from a Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TCC and SP) in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, in Ukraine's Odesa region, on September 26, according to Ukrainian officials. The attacker fled the scene after the assault.

The injured serviceman received emergency medical treatment and was reported to be in stable condition under hospital supervision. Officials described him as a combat veteran who had previously been wounded while defending Ukraine, and said the attack occurred while he was carrying out official duties related to military recruitment.

Law enforcement officers in the Odesa region have launched a search to identify and apprehend the attacker, who had not been captured as of the latest reports. The incident follows a related episode on September 21, when unknown individuals damaged a police vehicle during similar recruitment-related activities in a nearby village, according to officials. Ukrainian recruitment centers have periodically reported incidents of hostility or violence directed at their staff amid ongoing mobilization efforts tied to the war with Russia.
