Kirill Dmitriev, a Russian presidential envoy, has met with US officials in New York as part of an effort to continue dialogue between Moscow and Washington on peacemaking efforts related to Ukraine, according to a CNN report cited by Anadolu Agency.

Dmitriev, who heads Russia's sovereign wealth fund and has served as an economic and diplomatic intermediary between Moscow and Washington, has featured in previous rounds of contacts between the two countries as they have explored possible paths toward ending the war in Ukraine.

The Anadolu Agency report, attributing its information to CNN, did not specify which US officials Dmitriev met or provide details on the substance of the discussions, including whether any concrete progress was made toward a ceasefire or broader settlement.

Russia-US contacts on Ukraine have continued intermittently since the invasion began in 2022, with both sides periodically signaling openness to dialogue while remaining far apart on core issues such as territorial control and security guarantees.

Neither the Kremlin nor the US State Department was quoted directly in the report confirming details of the New York meeting.
