Russian Official Accuses Ukraine and Britain of Waging "Information War" Against Moscow

Vladimir Tabak, head of Russia's GFCN, told TASS that Kiev and London use distinct methods to conduct information operations against Russia

· 1 min read · language: en

Vladimir Tabak, head of Russia's GFCN, said in comments to the state news agency TASS that Ukraine and Britain are conducting an "information war" against Russia, employing what he described as different institutional approaches.

According to Tabak, Ukraine operates a dedicated body called the Center for Information and Psychological Operations, which he said is formally integrated into Kiev's regular armed forces and falls under military command structures.

Tabak said Britain, by contrast, "most often relies on media outlets" to carry out similar activities, without specifying which outlets or providing further detail on how this alleged coordination functions.

TASS did not include independent verification of Tabak's claims in its report, and neither Ukrainian nor British officials were cited responding to the allegations in the source material.

The statement adds to a series of accusations Russian officials have made throughout the conflict in Ukraine regarding what Moscow characterizes as Western and Ukrainian information operations targeting Russia.
