Russia's Foreign Ministry has called on Japan to heed its objections to the potential deployment of the United States' Typhon missile system on Japanese territory, according to ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, as cited by TASS.
Zakharova stressed that Russia considers the forward deployment of the Typhon system in Japan unacceptable under any circumstances or justification, TASS reported.
The Typhon system, developed by the United States, is capable of launching intermediate-range missiles and has drawn concern from Moscow regarding its potential deployment in the Asia-Pacific region.
