Russia Says About 1,000 Hacking Attempts Recorded Since Start of Legislative Election Voting
The claim follows an earlier announcement from Russia's electoral commission of a major cyberattack on the electronic voting system.
Russian authorities said around a thousand hacking attempts have been recorded in the country since the opening of legislative election voting, Le Monde reported in a live update on the war in Ukraine.
Russia's central election commission had already announced on Saturday, the second day of voting in about thirty regions using electronic balloting, that the voting system had been the target of a "very powerful cyberattack," according to Le Monde.
