Russia's Election Authority to Certify Final Tally of Legislative Vote

Russia's central election commission is preparing to certify the final results of the country's recent legislative vote, according to the authority.

The commission said it will announce the exact distribution of all 450 mandates in the lower house of parliament, following what officials described as more than 2,200 lower-level electoral campaigns held in connection with the vote.

The certification process marks the formal conclusion of the electoral cycle, following the casting and counting of ballots across Russia's regions. Once certified, the results will determine the composition of the parliament for the coming legislative term.

Russian officials have not indicated any expectation of significant disputes over the outcome, and the certification is widely expected to proceed as a procedural formality following the completion of vote counting. Independent scrutiny of Russian elections has been limited in recent years, with international observers largely absent from recent voting cycles amid Russia's isolation following its invasion of Ukraine.
