Russia's Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova recalled that Russia declared the Bucha reports a "provocation" immediately after they emerged in 2022, according to state news agency TASS. Zakharova characterized the accounts as a "falsification" that subsequently became a "place of pilgrimage" for Western leaders, international organization heads, and journalists.
