Russia's Foreign Ministry has accused Japan of undermining prospects for improved diplomatic relations, citing what it described as Tokyo's continued anti-Russian policy and support for Ukraine, according to a statement reported by the Russian state news agency TASS.
The ministry said that Japan's official stance, which it characterized as involving "hysteria" directed against Moscow, along with Tokyo's assistance to Kiev, has hindered efforts to normalize relations between the two countries, TASS reported.
According to the ministry's statement, as cited by TASS, the ongoing anti-Russian posture adopted by Japanese officials undermines the prospect of a more constructive dialogue between the two nations.
