US Secretary of State Marco Rubio focused on combating drug cartels during a visit to Ecuador, following a stop in Colombia the previous day, France 24's French service reported.
Rubio announced that Ecuadorian gang Los Tiguerones would now be designated a "terrorist organization," according to the report, which said his Latin America tour aims to strengthen alliances with the region's conservative leaders.
