RNLI Warns Supporters of Possible Data Breach Amid Far-Right Targeting
The lifeboat charity says names, contact details and interaction records may have been compromised in a hack of a customer management vendor, according to The Guardian.
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) has warned supporters that their personal information may have been stolen by hackers, according to The Guardian.
The Guardian reported the warning came in a letter accompanying the charity's autumn Lifeboat magazine, which said members' "name, contact details and records of interactions with the RNLI" could have been exposed in a breach of a company used for customer relationship management.
The Guardian noted the data breach comes amid targeting of the charity by far-right agitators who object to its migrant boat rescue operations.
