RFI Launches 'Global Perspectives' Series for 200 Years of Photography
To mark the bicentenary of the first known permanent photograph, RFI's French and foreign language newsrooms present a series dedicated to iconic images from history.

This initiative marks the bicentenary of the first known permanent photograph in history, RFI noted. Seventeen foreign language newsrooms of the broadcaster, along with the French desk, are participating in the project.
The series offers a total of 17 iconic photographs that, according to RFI, shaped history. Each language newsroom contributes with its own selection of images and analysis.
RFI did not specify in the materials distributed the overall duration of the series or the other photographs selected beyond those already mentioned.
