Rep. Chip Roy Says Congress Should Oversee AI, Not Regulate It

Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, said Congress should play an oversight role when it comes to artificial intelligence, but stopped short of calling for new regulations on the technology, according to CNBC.

In an appearance on CNBC's "Squawk Box," Roy said he supports congressional hearings on AI, according to the network. He did not, however, express support for additional regulatory measures targeting the fast-growing sector.
