Toronto Raptors star Kawhi Leonard has agreed to a two-year, $115 million contract extension with the franchise, including a player option for the 2028-29 season, his agent Harrison Gaines of Slash Sports told ESPN on Tuesday.
The extension keeps Leonard, one of the league's top forwards when healthy, under contract with Toronto for the foreseeable future, giving the Raptors continuity at the position as they build their roster around him.
Terms of the deal
The player option for the 2028-29 season gives Leonard the choice of remaining with the Raptors for a third year or testing free agency again at that point, a structure that provides him with long-term flexibility while committing to Toronto in the near term.
ESPN's report did not include additional financial breakdown of the contract beyond its total value and the player option provision confirmed by Leonard's agent.
The extension follows Leonard's continued tenure with the Raptors, a franchise that has built its roster plans in part around his availability and performance in recent seasons.
