Russian President Vladimir Putin's United Russia party is projected to have won the country's legislative elections held Sunday, September 20, according to an exit poll by the state-run Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM), cited by RFI. The poll put the party at 49.4% of the vote.

Putin had presented the vote, which began Friday, September 18, as a barometer of support for the war against Ukraine, RFI reported. The voting period was marked by Ukrainian drone attacks and cyberattacks, according to the broadcaster.
