Pussy Riot member describes three years as FSB informant before fleeing Russia
Rita Flores, a former member of the Russian protest group, says she was coerced into spying on fellow activists and was involved in a plot against a Kremlin opponent.
Rita Flores, 29, a Russian artist and former Pussy Riot member, has described in her first media interview since fleeing Russia last month how she was recruited and run by the FSB security service for three years. According to Flores, the FSB used blackmail and death threats to secure her cooperation, then assigned her increasingly serious tasks including informing on fellow activists, extracting personal information from protest-minded artists, and eventually assisting with a plot to kidnap and murder a Kremlin enemy.
Flores told The Guardian that she broke her cooperation with the FSB only when she left the country last month. The FSB has not yet commented on the allegations.
