Pornhub Returns to Australia After Introducing Apple Age-Verification Tools

Pornhub has returned to Australia after its parent company, Aylo, introduced age-verification measures through Apple devices, according to The Guardian.

Australian adults are once again able to access the site, which had been blocked for users in the country since March, when Aylo pulled access in response to online safety codes requiring adult websites to verify that users are 18 or older.

Those codes had initially prompted Aylo to block Australian users rather than implement age-verification systems, a decision that cut off access to what the report describes as the world's most popular pornography site for Australian adults for several months.

The restoration of access follows the rollout of age-checking functionality tied to Apple devices, which Aylo has now implemented to comply with Australia's regulatory requirements while restoring the site for verified adult users.

The episode reflects a broader push by Australian regulators to mandate age verification on adult content platforms as part of child safety-focused online safety rules, a push that has prompted varying responses from different platforms operating in the country.
