Details were passed to Kent police after people heard in a pub boasting about going to Dover to "attack Muslims."
Residents of Preston-next-Wingham, which has a population of just over 920, reported that hundreds of men began arriving in the village on Friday afternoon and effectively "took over" the area, according to witness accounts.
