ISLAMABAD — Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik chaired a meeting on Thursday to review implementation of the Prime Minister's Fuel Relief Scheme, according to the state-run Associated Press of Pakistan (APP).
The session focused on payments due under the scheme, as well as the supply chain, transportation and logistics arrangements needed to keep petroleum products flowing across the country without interruption.
Representatives of Pakistan Railways, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and companies from the oil sector attended the meeting, APP reported.
During the discussion, petroleum dealers reaffirmed their backing for the relief scheme, the minister said.
The Prime Minister's Fuel Relief Scheme is intended to ease the cost of petroleum products for consumers, and officials at the meeting stressed the importance of maintaining a steady supply chain to support the initiative.
