Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney paid a brief visit to the French archipelago of Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon on Sunday, Le Monde reported.

According to the newspaper, the trip served to demonstrate a tactical and symbolic partnership between France and Canada in the face of expansionist ambitions attributed to U.S. President Donald Trump.
