Pakistan's Total Liquid Foreign Reserves Rise to $26.79 Billion

Pakistan's total liquid foreign reserves rose to $26,791.2 million as of September 11, according to a weekly statement issued by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and reported by the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) on September 17.
The central bank said reserves held by the SBP alone increased to $21,389 million during the period under review.
According to the SBP, part of the increase in its foreign exchange reserves was attributed to the receipt of proceeds from Pakistan's Eurobond issuance.
The remainder of the total liquid foreign reserves figure is held by commercial banks operating in the country, as is customary in the SBP's weekly reporting format, though the central bank's statement as cited by APP did not provide a separate breakdown for bank-held reserves in this instance.
The SBP typically releases these figures on a weekly basis, providing an updated snapshot of the country's external liquidity position.
