Pakistan's NDMA Sets Urban Flood Resilience Plan Deadline of 2027
The National Disaster Management Authority convened stakeholders to develop structural and institutional measures to strengthen city flood resilience.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) held a seminar Friday at the National Emergencies Operation Center to address recurring urban flooding in Pakistan's cities, according to the Associated Press of Pakistan. The meeting brought together government departments, development authorities, urban planners, water management experts and other stakeholders.
The NDMA aims to complete a comprehensive urban flood resilience plan by June 2027, identifying both structural and institutional measures needed to strengthen Pakistan's cities against future flooding events.
