The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) issued a flood alert on Tuesday for vulnerable areas of Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Balochistan, according to the Associated Press of Pakistan. Expected rains through September 17 could trigger flash floods, raise river and stream levels, and cause urban flooding, the NDMA said.
The authority has directed relevant authorities to prepare advance measures to protect lives and property in affected areas.
