Pakistan plans 4G expansion to 296 villages in Balochistan
The Universal Service Fund has outlined three new mobile broadband projects to bring 4G connectivity to underserved areas across four districts.
The Universal Service Fund (USF) has planned three new 4G connectivity projects aimed at extending mobile broadband services to 296 underserved villages in Balochistan, according to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP).
The projects will cover an estimated population of 257,723 people across the districts of Khuzdar, Dera Bugti, Kohlu and Washuk, APP reported.
The initiative forms part of the USF's broader programme to expand digital access in remote parts of the province by extending mobile broadband coverage to villages that currently lack such services, according to the report.
APP did not provide further details on the timeline for implementation or the cost of the projects.
