ISLAMABAD — The federal government of Pakistan on Thursday announced a fresh set of austerity and fuel conservation measures effective immediately, according to a report by the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP).
The measures include a 50 percent reduction in fuel provision for official vehicles, a five percent cut in the non-ERE (non-establishment related expenditure) budget, and a three-month ban on foreign visits and travel by government officials, APP reported, citing a government notification.
The notification did not provide further details on the scope of the measures or which departments and officials would be affected, according to the report.
