The football club removed an image that unknowingly referenced the call sign of a plane involved in the September 11 attacks.
Oxford United apologized after an advertisement for its merchandise featured "United 93," the call sign of the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania during the 9/11 terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
The club said the image was used without awareness of the historical reference and has since been removed, according to BBC Sport.
