Door-to-door vaccination teams across Rawalpindi district administered oral polio drops to more than 719,000 children during the recent anti-polio campaign, health officials confirmed on Thursday.
Khalid Pervez, head of the Anti-Polio Program, said field teams completed extensive coverage across all targeted areas of the district as part of the drive.
Officials said a catch-up drive has since been initiated to reach children who may have been missed during the main campaign, in line with efforts to sustain high immunization coverage.
Anti-polio campaigns in Pakistan rely on repeated rounds of door-to-door vaccination to maintain protection against the poliovirus, which remains endemic in parts of the country.
