The two defendants are being prosecuted on suspicion of corruption and influence-trafficking, related to a sum of 900,000 euros that Rachida Dati allegedly received from the automaker while serving as a member of the European Parliament, the source notes.
According to information reported by France 24 journalist Pauline Godart, the hearing took place without the presence of Carlos Ghosn, who remains subject to international arrest warrants since his escape from Japan in 2019.
