One killed, six injured in Ukraine as Russian strike hits another Kyiv-area bridge

One person was killed and six others were injured after a bridge in the Kyiv area came under Russian attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, marking the fourth consecutive day that bridges in the region have been targeted.

The strike was part of a broader overnight exchange in which Russia and Ukraine traded attacks, according to officials, continuing a pattern of strikes on infrastructure that has persisted throughout the conflict.

Repeated targeting of bridges

Zelenskyy's statement highlighted the recurring nature of the attacks on Kyiv-area bridges, suggesting a sustained campaign targeting transport infrastructure in and around the Ukrainian capital over recent days.

Ukrainian authorities said emergency services responded to the latest strike to assist the injured and assess the damage. Russia has not issued a public response addressing the specific strike referenced by Zelenskyy. The attacks add to the broader toll of infrastructure damage reported across Ukraine since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion.
