US Representative Ilhan Omar is introducing legislation Thursday that would block nearly $140 billion in funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP), according to the Guardian. The Make ICE Pay Act would redirect the funds to local recovery efforts in communities affected by immigration enforcement operations.

The bill targets funding previously allocated to the agencies under President Donald Trump's "One Big Beautiful Bill," Omar's office said.
