NSW police have seized 36 high-powered and illegal e-bikes on Sydney's northern beaches as part of a coordinated operation with the New South Wales government to restrict dangerous modified bikes. One 14-year-old's e-bike was found capable of hitting 90km/h, according to officers.
Owners of the seized bikes have two weeks to appeal the seizure before the bikes are destroyed. The operation follows new police powers granted to remove and destroy non-compliant e-bikes.
