A new book by Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Jonathan Kaufman, titled When America Roared, looks back at the 1980s to explore its influence on present-day America, according to the Guardian.
The Guardian reported that Kaufman's book examines the era's culture of excess through figures such as former General Electric chief executive Jack Welch, alongside a broader look at how the decade is remembered.
According to the paper, Kaufman also discusses how figures from that era, including Donald Trump, were regarded by contemporaries at the time.
