Nearly four million German voters were called to the polls on Sunday for two regional elections that could produce new shockwaves in Berlin, according to France 24. The broadcaster reported that advances by the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) and the radical left could affect Chancellor Friedrich Merz, who is already described as significantly weakened.
