NASA Ames Fire Department to Conduct Aircraft Firefighting Training at Moffett Field
The fire department at NASA's Ames Research Center will hold training exercises using a propane-fueled aircraft fire simulator over four days in September.
The fire department at NASA's Ames Research Center in California's Silicon Valley will conduct aircraft firefighting training at Moffett Federal Airfield from Tuesday, Sept. 8 through Friday, Sept. 11, according to NASA.
The training will involve the use of a propane-fueled aircraft fire simulator, NASA said. Exercises are scheduled to run daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. PDT.
NASA noted that because the aircraft simulator will be in use, nearby residents and visitors to the area may notice smoke or flames associated with the training exercises during the specified hours.
