The Renoir Museum in Cagnes-sur-Mer in the Alpes-Maritimes was the target of a burglary on Tuesday, September 8, announced the town's mayor, Bryan Masson.
According to information provided by the mayor, two individuals broke into the facility and stole four artworks on display at the museum.
Still according to the mayor, two of the four stolen paintings were abandoned by the perpetrators of the burglary as they fled. These artworks have since been recovered.
The exact circumstances of the break-in, as well as the fate of the two other artworks still being sought, have not been specified at this time. An investigation has been opened to determine the details of the burglary and identify those responsible.
