Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held separate talks with the prime ministers of Malaysia and Ethiopia, as well as with the United Nations secretary-general, ahead of the BRICS Leaders' Summit set to begin in New Delhi, according to a report by Anadolu Agency.
The two-day summit is scheduled to start on Saturday in the Indian capital, the report said.
Details of the discussions between Modi and the visiting leaders were not immediately disclosed in the report.
The BRICS grouping, which includes major emerging economies, has been expanding its membership and agenda in recent years, with New Delhi's hosting of the summit seen as part of India's diplomatic engagement ahead of the gathering.
