Mexican authorities are investigating a viral video that appears to show suspected mercenaries chanting cartel slogans while fighting in Ukraine, according to Al Jazeera.
The footage has circulated widely online, prompting questions about the identities of the individuals shown and any possible links to Mexican criminal organizations.
Officials have not yet confirmed the authenticity of the video or the specific cartel affiliations suggested by the chants heard in the footage.
The case adds to a broader pattern of foreign fighters, including some from Latin America, being recruited or drawn into the conflict in Ukraine.
Further details are expected as Mexican authorities continue their investigation into the video's origins and the people it depicts.
