Meteorologists guided weather scenes in D-Day film 'Pressure'
Experts helped recreate the 1944 forecast that determined the timing of the Normandy landings for a new movie starring Andrew Scott and Brendan Fraser.
In the film Pressure, Andrew Scott portrays meteorologist Capt. James Stagg, who faced the critical task of forecasting conditions for Operation Overlord on June 5, 1944. Brendan Fraser plays Gen. Eisenhower, who must decide whether to proceed with the D-Day landings based on Stagg's assessment as a major storm approached the Normandy coast.
According to The Guardian, meteorologists consulted on the production to authentically recreate one of history's most consequential weather forecasts, which ultimately influenced the timing of the Allied invasion.
