Meta chief executive Mark Zuckerberg has revealed a new pair of virtual reality glasses priced at $1,299, alongside a companion wearable called the Muse Charm pendant, as the company continues to expand its lineup of AI-focused hardware.

The announcement adds to Meta's growing portfolio of wearable devices, which has increasingly centered on integrating the company's AI agents directly into products people can wear throughout the day. The Muse Charm pendant is designed to work alongside Meta's AI agent efforts, giving users another physical touchpoint for interacting with the technology.

Part of a broader AI hardware push

The new glasses and pendant arrive as Meta and its competitors race to establish wearable hardware as a primary interface for AI agents, rather than relying solely on smartphones or computers. Pricing the VR glasses at $1,299 places them at the premium end of the consumer VR and mixed-reality market.

Meta has not detailed a full release timeline for both products beyond the unveiling. The launch follows a string of recent moves by the company to diversify its wearable offerings, including audio-focused smart glasses and other AI-agent-linked accessories.

The debut positions Meta to compete more directly with other technology companies investing heavily in wearable AI devices, as the industry looks for the hardware format that will best support everyday AI agent use.
