Le secrétaire d'État américain Marco Rubio a débuté mardi 7 septembre une tournée en Amérique latine, selon RFI. Ce déplacement doit le conduire successivement en Colombie, en Équateur et au Pérou.
D'après RFI, Marco Rubio devrait y rencontrer plusieurs dirigeants conservateurs de la région, dont certains ont été investis il y a quelques semaines à peine. Ces responsables partageraient, selon la même source, de nombreuses positions défendues par le président américain Donald Trump.
L'objectif affiché de cette tournée, rapporte RFI, est de renforcer les alliances existantes entre les États-Unis et ces pays, notamment sur les plans économique et dans la lutte contre le narcotrafic.
