In Mali, the death toll from the attack launched on September 10 by al-Qaeda-affiliated JNIM jihadists against the army camp in Dioura in the Mopti region is rising. According to several sources, at least 100 Malian soldiers have been killed, twice as many as initial estimates.
Several dozen other soldiers were also taken prisoner by the jihadists during this offensive.
