Louisiana woman charged after 17 cats found dead in extreme heat at business
Madison Rebecca Colello, 29, faces felony and misdemeanor animal cruelty charges after cats were discovered in dangerously hot conditions without food or water.
Colello surrendered Thursday morning at the Livingston Parish detention center in Walker, Louisiana. She faces 17 felony counts of aggravated animal cruelty connected to the dead cats and 37 misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty, according to authorities.
Twenty other cats were rescued from the business in severe distress. The animals were found in extreme-heat conditions without access to food or water.
