Le Pentagone admet une pénurie de munitions après la guerre en Iran

Le ministère de la défense des Etats-Unis a reconnu, dans un rapport, l'existence d'« une pénurie sur les inventaires stratégiques » de munitions, selon des informations rapportées par Le Monde. Ce constat intervient après le lancement de l'opération militaire baptisée « Fureur épique » en Iran.
Ce rapport contredit les déclarations tenues début septembre par le président américain Donald Trump, qui assurait alors que les Etats-Unis disposaient de « quantités pratiquement illimitées de munitions ».
Selon le document cité par Le Monde, cette pénurie serait directement liée aux besoins générés par l'opération militaire menée en Iran. Le rapport ne précise pas, dans les éléments disponibles, l'ampleur exacte de cette pénurie ni les types de munitions concernés.
