Bailee Lynn Rios, 36, has been charged with two counts of murder following a collision in Los Angeles on Tuesday in which her SUV struck a metro bus, killing two passengers identified as Daniel Castillo, 46, and Gage Weida, 31, according to prosecutors. Rios allegedly was driving under the influence, traveling on the wrong side of the road, and ran a red light before the crash.
An NBC news helicopter that was covering the initial incident then crashed, killing three people aboard. Rios is being held on $4.1 million bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on September 18. According to online court records, no lawyer has been listed to represent her, and the public defender's office has not yet confirmed its involvement.
