Saudi Arabia has shut down its East-West pipeline connecting Abqaiq, near the Persian Gulf, to the port of Yanbu on the Red Sea, following drone attacks originating from Iraq. Since the start of the Middle East conflict, Riyadh had increased the volume of crude transported through this pipeline to bypass Iran's lockdown of the Strait of Hormuz.
The closure of this major infrastructure comes amid escalating regional tensions and could affect Saudi Arabia's oil export capacity.
