Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe has ended his long-standing partnership with Nike to join Swiss sportswear company On, according to Al Jazeera.

The move marks a significant shift for one of football's most prominent commercial figures, as On seeks to expand its presence in the football market. The company is set to launch its first line of football boots next year, the report said.

As part of its broader push into the sport, On has also appointed former France and Arsenal striker Thierry Henry as its football director, according to the report.

Details of the financial terms of Mbappe's new agreement with On, as well as the timeline for when he will begin wearing the brand's products on the pitch, have not been disclosed.

Mbappe, who plays for Real Madrid, had previously been associated with Nike, one of the dominant sportswear brands in football. His switch to On represents a notable move away from the established sportswear giants that typically sponsor top-tier footballers.

On's entry into football footwear, alongside the recruitment of high-profile figures such as Henry and Mbappe, signals the brand's ambitions to compete with established players in the sports apparel industry.
