ITV1 crime drama pairs a smug pathologist with a frosty detective

A new crime drama airs on ITV1 at 9pm, pairing Richard Armitage as forensic pathologist Dr Ethan Winter with Annabel Scholey as DI Lauren Bell, The Guardian's TV guide reports.

Winter is described as an unbearably smug pathologist who claims he can read a body like a book, while Bell is portrayed as a diligent but frosty police officer. The two are thrown together when the murder of a young woman lands on both their desks, and an explosive postmortem raises the stakes, forcing them to tolerate one another.

The guide also flags Martin Compston's cocktail session in Las Vegas among the evening's viewing.
