Istanbul to Host 2027 Spanish Super Cup as Turkish, Saudi Officials Discuss Sports Cooperation

Istanbul is set to host the 2027 Spanish Super Cup, a tournament that will feature four of Spain's leading football clubs, Anadolu Agency reported.

According to the report, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad will take part in the competition, which is scheduled to run from Feb. 2 to Feb. 6, 2027.

The announcement came as Bilal Erdogan and Turki Al-Sheikh highlighted cooperation between the two sides in connection with the tournament, according to Anadolu Agency. The report did not provide further details on the specific roles of the two officials or the nature of the discussions held.

The Spanish Super Cup traditionally brings together the winners of La Liga and the Copa del Rey, along with the respective runners-up, in a knockout format. In recent years, the tournament has been held outside Spain, including in Saudi Arabia.
