Israeli Forces Shell Village, Fire on Residential Areas in Southern Syria

Israeli armed forces shelled a village and opened fire on residential areas in southern Syria, according to a report from Anadolu Agency. The report did not specify casualties or the precise locality affected.

The incident is described by the agency as part of a continuing pattern of Israeli military activity inside Syrian territory, which it says has persisted since late 2024, following the collapse of the previous Syrian government.

Syria's current authorities have repeatedly objected to Israeli strikes and ground incursions in the country's south, arguing they violate Syrian sovereignty. Israel has said its military activity near the border area is intended to prevent the regrouping of hostile armed groups and to protect its own territory.

Neither the Israeli military nor Syrian officials issued a detailed public statement on this specific incident in the material available for this report. Further details, including any casualties or official responses, were not immediately available.
