Iraq has repatriated 48 Iranian prisoners to Iran under a bilateral agreement on the transfer of sentenced prisoners, according to Mojtaba Shasti Karimi, Director-General of Consular Affairs at Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as reported by IRNA.
Shasti Karimi said the repatriation was carried out in accordance with an existing agreement between Tehran and Baghdad governing the transfer of convicted individuals between the two countries.
